Oliver Paul McConnell

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Oliver Paul McConnell, 25, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Monday morning, May 26, 2025, at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

He was born on Feb. 2, 2000, in Encinitas, California. He grew up in Carlsbad, California, and attended schools there. He later moved to Overland Park, where he finished high school, graduating from Blue Valley North High School in 2018. While at Blue Valley North he was the starting tight end on the 2017 6A state championship football team.

Following high school, he lived in Wichita and California before moving to Nashville. While he was in Wichita he attended Wichita State University. Oliver was a partner in an online social media marketing company. He loved fishing, college football, traveling and family.

Oliver is survived by his mother, Carole McConnell of Oceanside, California, and Yvette Hopkins and her husband, Norman Hopkins, of Carlsbad, California; his sister, Lily Hopkins of Carlsbad, California; his aunts and uncles, Joseph T. Clary and his wife, Brianna Moore, of Nashville, Tennessee, William G. Clary of Oceanside, California; his cousins, Kyle Clary, Ryan Clary, Tessa Clary, Michael McKibben and Kortland Knox.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Forest Glenn Mc-Connell; and his great-grandparents, Paul and Mae McConnell.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Pat McReynolds officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons. Friends are encouraged to meet at the funeral home prior to the service.
