Audubon plans annual picnic
The Southeast Kansas Audubon Society will have its annual picnic at the shelter house at the Parsons Arboretum at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3. This is a potluck dinner and those attending will need to bring food to share and their own table service.
This will be the last meeting of the group until September.
Neosho RAC to meet
The Kansas Water Office’s (KWO) Neosho Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) will have a meeting to discuss current water issues affecting the region as well as the state.
The RAC meeting will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at the Emporia Public Library, 110 E. Sixth, Emporia, and on Zoom. The main agenda items will include an update on the 2025 legislative session, a discussion on the progress and next steps for the Kansas Water Plan Implementation Framework and updates from each RAC member.

Swimming pool opening delayed
The Parsons Municipal Swimming Pool opens officially today, Tuesday, May 27. The pool was to open for the season on Sunday but the opening was delayed because of expected bad weather.
