ERIE — Hosting a weather-shortened postseason tournament, the Erie Red Devils won the KSHSAA 2A Regional Tournament by one stroke on Monday.
Erie scored 169 strokes as a team, edging out second-place finisher St. Mary’s Colgan, which posted 170.
Hillsboro finished third with 186 strokes, followed by Lyndon (190), Berean Academy (195), Eureka (208), Sedgwick (208) and Uniontown (228).
Erie’s Ty Barnhart won the regional title individually, posting a score of 35 strokes over nine holes — the tournament was shortened from 18 to nine holes due to weather conditions at Prairie Ridge Golf Course.
Erie had three golfers earn medals for finishing in the top 10. Isaac Myers placed fifth, shooting a 41, while Aiden Wilson tied for seventh with 43 strokes alongside Hillsboro’s Lincoln Wichert.
Cody Elliott of Erie placed 23rd (50), Reid Duff 29th (53) and Tanner Strathe 33rd (56).
Oswego also had three golfers at the meet — Owen Jaxson finished 16th (47), Christian Cunningham 23rd (50) and Cooper O’Brien 42nd (64).
