ERIE — Leslie Diane (Brown) Gage, 54, of Erie and a former Parsons resident, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, April 30, 2025, at her home in Erie.
She was born on Jan. 19, 1971, at Parsons, a twin daughter of Daniel and Mary Jo (Pope) Brown. She grew up in Parsons and attended Parsons schools, graduating from Parsons High School in 1991. She served as a football and volleyball manager for the Vikings. She attended Labette Community College, earning her certification as a nurse’s aide. She also attended Coffeyville Community College.
Leslie worked at various nursing homes, Labette Health and for home health as a certified nurse’s aide. She also worked as a medication aide, caregiver and a housekeeper for the Lutheran Church in Erie.
She enjoyed fishing, growing flowers and arts and crafts. She married Troy Gage in rural Parsons. They later divorced. She is survived by her son, Jonathan “Johnny” Gage of Erie; her daughters, Danielle Gage of Chanute and Pixie Gage of Pittsburg; her grandson, Aiden Potts of Chanute; her mother, Mary Jo Howard of rural Parsons; her twin sister, Lee Ann Simoncic and her husband, John, of Pittsburg; her brothers, Jason Dantic and his wife, Becky, of rural Parsons and Mike Howard and his wife, Tracy, of Altamont; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Joe Brown; her stepfather, Dale O. Howard; and her brother, Daniel Joe “D.J.” Brown.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, at the Carson- Wall Funeral Home with the Rev. Clifton “Bob” Edmonson officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery near Erie. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
