KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A jury trial scheduled to begin next week for a former Parsons man accused of second-degree murder has been delayed a year.
Jaylen Eugene McDaniel, 33, of Kansas City, Missouri, is being held in the Jackson County Detention Center in Kansas City. He’s charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, endangering a child and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The murder happened March 13, 2023, in south Kansas City, Missouri, near East 115th Terrace and Food Lane.
Police found Trianna “Tri” Tisdale, 29, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital but died shortly after from her injuries, Kansas City broadcast media reported.
After hearing of a key witness’s unavailability next week, a judge agreed to reschedule the trial from May 12 to April 20, 2026, in the Jackson County (Missouri) Courthouse.
A hearing on pretrial motions is set for April 10, 2026.
McDaniel, who attended Parsons High School, served a short stint in Lansing Correctional Facility in Kansas for a Labette County conviction for aggravated battery.
