L.T. and Carrie Tierney will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 24 at Kitchen Pass, 1711 Main.
L.T. Tierney and Carrie (Brooks) Main were married on Aug. 26, 1994, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Parsons.
L.T. Tierney served two years of active duty in the U.S. Army, including two tours in Vietnam. He then joined the Army Reserve in 1970, retiring in 2009 with 36 years in the military. He also served a tour during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He retired from civil service after 30 years.
Carrie Tierney joined the Army Reserve in 1974 and retired in 2010 with 35 years in the service. She served two overseas tours, first during Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield and then in Operation Iraqi Freedom. She retired from civil service with 30 years as a staff operation and training specialist.
The couple have five children, Jeff Tierney of Versailles, Missouri, Michael Tierney of Frontenac, Angela Tierney of Pittsburg, Jolene Main and Karla Lassen, both of Parsons. They also have 11 grandchildren, Dustin, Trevor, Dillon, Lucas, Tank, Ava and Zoe Tierney, Devon Franklin, Syrus Clairmont, Adyen Main and Coast Lassen.
