Ron and Jeannie “Iva” McDaniel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a come-and-go celebration for family and friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the couple’s home, 1603 Felix. Their children will host the event.
Ron McDaniel and Jeannie Ramsey were married May 3, 1969, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church by Monsignor D.R. Daugherty. They have lived in Parsons since their marriage.
Mr. McDaniel worked for the Katy Railroad and installed carpet for over 40 years. He retired from Ruskin Manufacturing.
Mrs. McDaniel was a housewife until their children were grown. She then worked several years outside of the home. She is a housewife again and watches the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The couple’s children are Galen McDaniel and his companion, Angie Carr, of Parsons, Tim McDaniel and his wife, Dea, of Parsons, Brenda Ruark and her companion, Don Myers, of Galesburg, and Jon McDaniel and his companion, Kimberly Gruver, of Parsons. They also have 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The couple request no gifts.
