Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tincknell will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Jan. 28.
Richard Tincknell and Elizabeth Racy were married Jan. 28, 1967, at the Cherryvale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clyde Noyce officiating. They made their first home in Pittsburg before moving to Altamont. They returned to Cherryvale in 1971.
Before retirement Mr. Tincknell was an educator in the area and worked for Altamont USD 506 and Tri-County Special Education Cooperative. He now enjoys working on his hobby farm. Mrs. Tincknell worked as a substitute teacher as well as an accountant and in office administration in a number of places before retiring from Tri-County Special Education Cooperative. She now enjoys quilting and reading.
The couple currently resides in rural Cherryvale.
Their children are Sara (Mark) Dreisbach, Cherryvale, and Andy (Janett) Tincknell, Hays. They have two granddaughters, Katherine (Nathaniel) Madl, Chanute, and Violet Tincknell, Hays. They have a grandson Braydee Tincknell, Hays. Additionally, they have one great-grandson, Stetson Madl of Chanute.
Their family will host a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Cherryvale United Methodist Church, 305 W. Third. Handicap parking and an elevator are available on the south side of the church.
The couple request no gifts other than the presence of their friends and family.
