COLUMBUS — Larry Gail McKee, 71, of rural Columbus died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at his home.

He was born June 16, 1939, on the family farm to John William and Thelma Irene (Burrows) McKee. He graduated from CCCHS in 1956, from Kansas State College of Pittsburg 1961 with a bachelor of science in education and Pittsburg State University in 1979 with a master of science degree.

He married Carolyn Louise Frobish on May 29, 1962, at the First Christian Church in Columbus. She survives of the home.

Mr. McKee was a teacher, retiring from Central School in Columbus in 1993.

Other survivors include a son, Alan Gail McKee of Tahlequah, Okla.; a daughter, Carla Jo McKee of rural Columbus; and four granddaughters.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Murdock Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
