CHERRYVALE — Floyd Eugene Hamilton, 74, of Cherryvale died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at his home.
He was born on July 31, 1936, at Earlton to William Floyd and Mildred (Splain) Hamilton. He attended schools in Earlton and Chanute.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force.
He married Shirley Ann Tremain on Jan. 17, 1956, at Iola. She preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 2004.
He worked for 28 years for Weaver Construction in Aurora, Colo.
Survivors include a son, James Hamilton of Cherryvale; two daughters, Katherine Welch of Clovis, N.M., and Brenda Locke of Cherryvale; two brothers, Larry Hamilton of Hemett, Calif., and Ronnie Hamilton of Chanute; a sister, Daisy Jones of Platte City, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday. Burial will be at Pratt Cemetery east of Independence.
