He was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Winfield to Robert D. and Marie (McGinn) Blake.
He married Joanne Hole on June 16, 1962, in Topeka. She survives of the home.
He grew up on the farm and later graduated from Winfield High School. He graduated from Kansas University with a master's degree in psychology and administration. For a time he worked as a recreation director at Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.
Survivors also include two sons, Jon K. Blake and Ken Blake, both of Topeka; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Topeka.
