Veta Frances DeGraff, 93, of Parsons, died at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Elmhaven East.

She was born May 4, 1917, in Concordia to Harrison and Meta (Gram) Quinnette. As a young girl, she grew up in the Concordia area, where she attended schools.

She married Leonard William DeGraff in 1939 in Concordia. Following marriage, they moved to Minnesota, where they owned and operated a fishing resort. In 1948, they returned to Concordia, where she and her husband worked as private contractors. Following her husband’s death in 1990, she moved to Sapulpa, Okla., to be near her son, Gary DeGraff. Her son died in October 2006. In October 2009, she moved to Parsons to be near her grandchildren.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sapulpa. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and other handcrafts. She loved wearing hats and sharing a good joke.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline DeGraff of Tulsa; six grandchildren, Randy Encarnacion of Tulsa, Leaona Ellis, Tony Encarnacion, both of Parsons, Erlinda West of Ponca City, Okla., Paula DeGraff of Salina and Jeff DeGraff of Marlboro, M.D.; 25 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margie Johnson of Granby, Mo.

In addition to her husband and son, she was preceded in death by two sisters; and a grandson, Dana Encarnacion, in 1985.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. A private family burial will be held.
