He was born March 26, 1924, in Coyville to John “Jack” and Blanche (Lewis) Ellis.
He worked at Haskett and Peddlar in Parsons before retiring.
On Feb. 8, 1949, he married Mabel I. Pilkington. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Marvelle Ellis of Cherryvale; two sons, Duncan Ellis of Independence and John Ellis of Cherryvale; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gerald and Leon Ellis, both of Cherryvale.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cherryvale Christian Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Cherryvale. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, where friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to Cherryvale Christian Church and may be left with the funeral home.
