DODGE CITY — Robert “Bob” Arensdorf, 85, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at his home in Dodge City.
He was born April 2, 1925, at Ellinwood the son of Peter and Edith Komarek Arensdorf. He grew up on the family farm where he lived and farmed for most of his life until moving into Ensign in 2000.
In 1944 he joined the United States Army and served during World War II after graduating from Ensign High School in 1943.
On May 29, 1958, he married Anne Scoggins at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dodge City. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Jesse Scoggins of Parsons; a daughter, Carrol Burnett of Dodge City; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roger Arensdorf of New Braunfels, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A vigil service was Monday at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel in Dodge City. A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. today at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. Cremation has taken place.
The family suggests memorials to the Trinity Manor Residents Activity Fund or the Dodge City High School Boys Cross Country Team both in care of Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, 67801.
