Ruth I. Donaldson, 97, of Parsons died at 5:50 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society of Parsons.

She was born July 25, 1913, in Wittenberg, Mo., to Frank and Allie (Smith) Thompson.

For more than 30 years, she owned and operated Commercial Development Co. in Shawnee Mission.

She married James C. Donaldson in the late 1960s. He preceded her in death Oct. 5, 1985.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Rinkenberger of Plano, Texas; and two grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Roger Rinkenberger.

The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Cherry Mound Cemetery near Westphalia. Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons is in charge of arrangements.
