Ann McKnight, 66, of Parsons died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Labette Health in Parsons.

She was born on June 28, 1944, at Pauls Valley, Okla., to James and Hester (Mead) Clark. She grew up in Oklahoma, Texas and South Carolina before moving to Parsons. She attended Labette County Community High School.

She married John McKnight on Oct. 2, 1961, in Parsons. He preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 2003.

She was a homemaker and devoted her life to care for her daughter, Tammy McKnight. She enjoyed scrapbooking, crafts, traveling and keeping up with friends online, but she loved spending time with her grandchildren most of all. She also volunteered for The Salvation Army in Arkansas.

Survivors include her two daughters, Tammy McKnight of the home and Missy Schoenhofer and her husband, Ty, of rural Parsons; two grandsons, Jacob and Levi Schoenhofer, and was “Granny” to many more; three brothers, Bruce Mead, and his wife, Parthena, of Denison, Texas, Howard Mead, and his wife, Betty, of Grovespring, Mo., and James Mead, and his wife, Delberta, of Grovespring, Mo.; and a sister, Shirley Chase, and her husband, Tyrone of Parsons.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

The graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Springhill Cemetery. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
