He was born June 15, 1938, at St. Paul to Cyril Robert and Ellen Marie (Kennedy) Lancaster. He graduated from Chanute High School in 1956.
Mr. Lancaster served in the U.S. Army.
He was an electrician for Westar Energy, retiring in 2000.
On March 6, 1971, he married Margie Ann Hodgens. They later divorced.
Survivors include twin daughters, Shiela Chandler of DeQuincy, La., and Sharon Kilby of Iola; three grandchildren; and three siblings, John L. Lancaster of Wichita, Mary K. Stephan of Walnut and June Roberts of Raytown, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Chapel in Iola. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Scott National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Truth Church Building Fund in Iola and may be left in care of the funeral home in Iola.
