He was born on Feb. 16, 1927, to Frank and Hazel (Gray) Watts. He graduated from Girard High School.
He served in the Merchant Marines.
He married Donna Dawson. She preceded him in death.
He was a salesman for Sears, Allstate, Motorola, Zenith, RCA, Nelkin-Paper and other companies.
Survivors include his children, Cheryl Bowers, Dr. Diana Watts, Debra Watts McCormick, James Watts, Dr. Larry Watts and Lori Hirons; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Bevins of Parsons; and a brother, Dean Watts.
The service was on Saturday at Carson-Speaks Chapel, Independence, Mo. Burial was in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Kansas City Hospice or the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital.
