Mathew T. (Ross) Burchett, 31, of Parsons died early Sunday, July 18, 2010, because of longstanding complications from diabetes.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1978, in Chanute to Glenda Shultz. He spent most of his life between Chanute, Coffeyville and Parsons and was raised by his mother and stepfather, Raymond T. Swafford.
He loved his dogs and enjoyed camping and fishing. He also enjoyed visiting with family and friends, especially his nieces and nephew.
Survivors include his mother, Glenda Shultz and her companion, John Symons, of Parsons; his father, Jeffrey Burchett of Dewitt, Neb.; his fiancee, Angela Gamblian of Parsons; a niece, Gabrielle Ross of Parsons; three brothers, Glenn Ross, Jeremy Swafford and Danny Wise, of Parsons; two stepbrothers, Chris Burris and Brandon Swafford, both of Parsons; two half sisters, Dorothy Burchett of Lincoln, Neb., and Katrina Burchett of Dewitt, Neb.; and two stepsisters, Crystal Burris of Parsons and Sheri Clift of Independence.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ray Swafford, on Dec 10, 2004.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
