She was born May 25, 1940, in Parsons to Orrie and Eunice (Hart) Shields. She graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont and later earned a license in cosmetology.
She married Charles Fowler on July 2, 1960, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Fowler worked at Grace Living Center in Stillwater as a beautician.
Other survivors include a daughter, Karen Cryer of Stillwater, Okla.; two sons, Kevin Fowler of Stillwater, Okla., and Khristopher Fowler of Cushing, Okla.; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater. The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Strode Funeral Home of Stillwater, Okla., is in charge of arrangements.
