LAWRENCE — Pauline G. Harvey, 86, of Lawrence died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community in Lawrence.

She was born Aug. 19, 1923, in Parsons to George and Stamata Pappas. She graduated from Parsons High School and Pittsburg State College, and spent her career as an elementary school teacher.

Mrs. Harvey was a longtime resident of Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Herk” Harvey, a filmmaker with Centron Corp., and their beloved dog Rocky.

Survivors include her siblings, Evelyn Dowling of Edmond, Okla., Patricia Callahan of Bella Vista, Ark., and Tony Pappas of Santa Monica, Calif.; as well as three nephews and two nieces.

A private inurnment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials in her name may be made to: Lawrence Humane Society, the Salvation Army or the Lawrence Community Shelter and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
