She was born Feb. 18, 1929, at Weir to Harry and Mable (Bennet) McCormick. She attended Cherokee County schools. She worked for the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant near Parsons for more than 30 years.
She married Eli Noah Getman on Jan. 19, 1947, in Columbus. He preceded her in death.
Her hobbies were playing bingo and helping out on the farm.
She was a member of Center Christian Church of rural Columbus.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Getman and Joe Getman, both of Columbus; two daughters, Eva Phillip of Columbus and Mabel McCormick of Chetopa; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter James McCormick of Sylvia, Tom McCormick of Columbus and Bill McCormick of Cambridge; and four sisters, Meria Wells-Bannister of Arkansas City, Elizabeth Tyree, Mary J. Hill and Harriett Loughridge, all of Columbus.
Also preceding her in death were a granddaughter, Machella Getman; three sons, Leonard Getman, Jessie Getman and Eli Getman Jr.; a daughter, Ethal Jones; and two brothers, John McCormick and Oliver McCormick.
The service will be at 10 a.m. today at Simpson Funeral Home in Columbus with pastor Dennis Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Edgmand Cemetery northwest of Columbus.
