Juanita Bush, 82, a longtime Parsons resident, died at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born on April 9, 1928, at Parsons to Bert and Hazel (Souters) Divine. She grew up at Parsons and attended schools here. She was a homemaker and did some babysitting over the years.
She married Howard Forshey on Aug. 5, 1944, at Oswego. They later divorced. She married Samuel A. “Sam” Bush on April 5, 1974, at Neodesha. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1998.
She enjoyed visiting with friends around the kitchen table with coffee, fishing, camping, her Boston and rat terrier dogs; Christy and Maddy. However, her family and friends were most important in her life and she cherished every moment with them.
Her survivors include a son, John Forshey and his wife, Betty Jean, of Parsons; a daughter, Margaret Forshey of Parsons; three stepdaughters, Diane Barby, Linda Davis and Tina Robison; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Nick Divine and his wife, Pat, of Parsons; two sisters, Jean Howard of Parsons and Leda Mae Chavez of Gardner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Jack Forshey; a daughter, Cheryl Blackburn; a brother, Buck Divine; and a sister, Ruby Buchanan.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
