COLUMBUS — Doris L. Grant, 64, of rural Columbus died at 2:05 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin following a short illness.

She was born Oct. 6, 1945, in Columbus to Joseph J. and Mildred L. (Scowden) Grant. She attended area schools and graduated from Columbus High School.

Doris worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center for many years as a secretary.

Survivors include a brother, Danny Grant of rural Columbus; and a sister, Louise Ferraro of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon. Burial will follow in St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Rose of Lima and/or St. Bridget’s Catholic churches and may be left at or mailed to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Weir.
