He was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Covington, Okla., to James H. and Mae H. (Stout) Andrews. He grew up in the Douglas, Okla., area and attended high school there.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following the war, he returned to Douglas and farmed. In 1955, he moved to the Galesburg area, where he farmed many years. He also worked briefly for the Bush Hog Co. and for the Rick Hizey Construction Co.
On June 15, 1947, he married Wanda J. Swiggart at Douglas. She survives of the home.
He was a member of Galesburg Christian Church.
Other survivors include a son, Florian O. “Jake” Andrews Jr. and his wife, Sheri, of Erie; three daughters, Linda Sailsbury and her husband, David, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Brenda Peters and her husband, Gratz, of Erie and Cathy Barnhart and her husband, Tim, of Parsons; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marie Dawson of Wichita and Doris Rudd of Marshall, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Andrews; and a sister, Mabel Dulavey.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Galesburg Christian Church. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Marine Corp Detail will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Galesburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons.
