AMERICUS — E. Robert “Bob” Yockey, 85, of Americus died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.

He was born on April 13, 1925, in Hornick, Iowa, to Casper and Mary Josephine (Cory) Yockey.

He served in the U.S. Marines.

He worked at Didde Corp.

He married Daisy Greeve on Sept. 14, 1947, in Ottawa. She preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 1983.

He married Lucy Brestel on Sept. 1, 1986, in Lexington, Neb. She preceded him in death in February 1997.

Survivors include a son, Robert J. “Bob” Yockey of Parsons; four daughters, Susan Worcester of Americus, Julia Routhieaux of Emporia, Linda Butterfield of Brighton, Colo., and Sandra Beck of Chanute; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Others preceding him in death include a grandson, Doug Steele Jr.; and a granddaughter, Mary Jo Butterfield.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church, Emporia. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Melvern Cemetery, Melvern.
