She was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Mound Valley to Charles and Maude (Campbell) Spoonamore. She graduated from Oswego High School in 1942.
She married Carl W. Hellwig Jr. on Nov. 17, 1945, in Parsons. The couple farmed north of Oswego. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2003.
Survivors include two sons, Ron Hellwig of Shawnee and Mark Hellwig of Oswego; a daughter, Karla Sullivan of Oswego; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lou Weaver of Greeley, Colo.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oswego. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery south of Oswego. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
