He was born March 13, 1929, in Parsons to F.J. & Mae (Mullinax) Truster.
Fred retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief. He worked as a railroad engineer for Union Pacific for 34 years.
He was active in the Fleet Reserves and was a member of the local DAV. In his spare time, Fred loved to work in the yard, garden and flower beds. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He was an active and faithful member of First Assembly of God Church, which he thought of as his second home.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of over 60 years, Jean Truster of the home; a son, Jim Truster of Glenpool, Okla.; a daughter, Janice Lubosch and her husband, Bernie, of Edmond, Okla.; three grandchildren, Paul Lubosch and his wife, Charlee, of Jenks, Okla., and Matthew Truster and Christopher Truster, both of Williamsburg, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Kaden Lubosch of Lewiston, Idaho, and Peyton Lubosch of Jenks; his brother, Bill Truster and his wife, Lena, of Texas; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Workman and Bob Workman and his wife, Gwyn; a sister-in-law, DeLoma Kay Griggs; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and his church family.
A celebration of the life of Fred Truster will be at 2 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church in Muskogee, Okla., with Pastor Steve Rose and Gene Bebee officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum with James Weir, Kevin McCoy, Joe Felegi, Kenneth Catlett, Fred Stewart and J.C. Smith serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Floyd Wilson, Bob Rose, Jim Bever, Mike Lewis and Loyd Burrows.
