Eugene "Gene" Ramirez, 47, a former resident of Parsons, died in Tucson, Ariz.

He was born Nov. 7, 1960, at Mercy Hospital in Parsons to Joaquin and Mary Galdina (Fuentez) Ramirez. He grew up in Parsons and attended Washington Elementary School, Parsons Junior High School and Parsons Senior High School. He worked various jobs before moving to Tucson, Ariz., in 1986.

He was a member of the former St. Mary's Catholic Church now St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. He enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, going to swap meets and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his parents, Joaquin and Mary Ramirez of Parsons; four brothers, Joseph "Steve" Ramirez of Parsons, Raphael "Ray" Ramirez of Austin, Texas, Joaquin "J.R." Ramirez Jr. of Parsons and Daniel Ramirez and his wife, Paula, of Parsons; four sisters, Vicki Williams and her husband, Jerry, of Parsons, Agnes "Nana" Mateer of Parsons, Ann Cruse and her husband, Kevin, of Parsons and Patty Shaver of Parsons; sisters-in-law, Becky, Melody, Janet and Laura; brothers-in-law, Kevin and Mike; and several nieces and nephews

The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
