She was born June 23, 1939, in Columbus to Carl C. and Lula Mae Carroll York. She graduated from Columbus High School.
She married Fred E. Martin on July 7, 1956. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1973.
She married Harold A. Martin on Jan. 20, 1975, and he preceded her in death on April 20, 1997.
She worked as a teachers' aide in the Weir Grade School. She was a member of the Mother of God Catholic Church in Oswego, St. Mary's Altar Society and the Rosary Prayer Group. She enjoyed time with family and friends and keeping a flower garden.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Hartzfeld and her husband, Mike, of Pittsburg and Melissa McTaggart and her husband, Kent, of Oswego; a son, Fred W. Martin of Kansas City, Kan.; two stepsons, Steve A. Martin and his wife, Tonya, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Mark A. Martin of Parsons; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Carl W. York and John York, both of Oswego.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Mother of God Catholic Church in Oswego with the Rev. Larry Parker officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bridget's Cemetery in Scammon. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Murdock Funeral Home in Oswego.

Clark Merton King
TULSA -- Clark Merton King, 88, a former rural Thayer resident, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at a retirement community in Tulsa, where he had resided for several years.
He was born Nov. 3, 1920, in Edmond, Okla., to Forest and Anna King. He graduated from Foyil High School and from Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) with a degree in agricultural engineering.
He married Dorothy May Chicken in 1942 and bought a 320 acre farm near Thayer.
He served briefly in the U.S. Air Force near the end of World War II. He served in the Korean War in the Air Force. After that he served four years in the Pentagon where he retired in 1968 at the rank of lieutenant colonel.
He retired from farming in 1999 and maintained a small herd of cattle for a couple of years afterward.
There will be no memorial service in accordance with Clark's request. He will be buried in South Center Cemetery near Thayer. Reynolds Funeral Service, 1916 S. Sheridan Road, Tulsa, 74112, is in charge of arrangements.
CHERRYVALE -- Dale Mitchell, 48, of Cherryvale died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at his home.
He was born April 12, 1960, in Independence to Loma and Dorothy (Ash) Mitchell and attended schools in Cherryvale. He also had two years of college.
He grew up in Cherryvale.
He worked for Powder Blue, where he was a powder-coating supervisor.
Survivors include a daughter, Amanda Decker of Springfield, Mo.; a son, Jacob A. Mitchell of Glenpool, Okla.; four grandchildren; and four sisters, Debbie Rash and Gayle Cunningham, both of Cherryvale, Nancy Gordon of Carl Junction, Mo., and Joan Cox of Flagstaff, Ariz.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
