Mary Catherine Boner, 91, of Parsons died at 10:25 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at Elmhaven West in Parsons.

She was born July 28, 1918, in Osage, Okla., to Robert and Margaret (Bridgeman) Coons.

On April 18, 1940, she married William J. “Bill” Boner in Parsons. She attended Labette Community College in Parsons and, at age 56, received her registered nurse license. During her nursing career, she did direct patient care at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita and Labette County Medical Center in Parsons.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons and its Altar Society.

Survivors include a son, Robert Boner and his wife, Carolyn, of Westminster, Md.; three daughters, Mary Ann Whitlock and her husband, Bob, of Phoenix, Susan Pavey and her husband, Tom, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Pat Mabie and her husband, Sid, of Wichita; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. “Bill” Boner, on Aug. 20, 1986; a son, Michael J. Boner, May 4, 2002; a brother; and a sister.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Parsons. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, where the family will receive friends following.
