LANCASTER, Calif. — Edwin Joe Sanders, 65, of Lancaster, Calif., died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, after a short battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 12, 1944, in Hallowell to Edwin and Blanche (Hensel) Sanders. He grew up and attended schools in Oswego. He received his bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in counseling from Pittsburg State University.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He married Anne Burgess of Oswego in 1967. They later divorced.

He was a product manager for Nouvag USA in Lake Hughes, Calif.

Survivors include a daughter, Cary Allen; four grandchildren; three sisters, Jacquie Brown of Denver, Gerry Stice of Lawrence and Sandy Crandall of Lake Hughes, Calif.; and a brother, Larry Sanders, of Oswego.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service is planned for a later date.
