EAGLE RIVER, Wis. — Fern Palmer, 89, of Eagle River, Wis., died Saturday, April 3, 2010, in the Eagle River Memorial Hospital in Eagle River, Wis.

She was born May 25, 1920, in Nowata County, Okla., to Joseph and Johnnie (Cline) Miller. She attended area schools.

On Jan. 7, 1941, she married Ray Palmer. They lived more than 50 years on their farm in Craig County, Okla.

Survivors include four children, Donnie Palmer and his wife, Mary Ann, of Coffeyville, Peggy Said and her husband, Ed, of Land of Lakes, Wis., Sheryl Baker of Edna and her friend, Mike, of Oologah, Okla., Bruce Palmer of rural Edna and his friend, Olga, of Independence; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Audrey Thompson of Coffeyville, Faye Keaton of rural South Coffeyville, Okla., and Lois Neese of Toledo, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Pearl Wilson and her husband, Jim, of Coffeyville.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Patty Jo; her husband, Ray; her parents; three brothers; and one sister.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant View Church of God south of Edna with Pastor Jimmy Harrington officiating. Burial will be in North Edna Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
