He was born Nov. 28, 1949, in Parsons to Beverly and Allen Flowers. He attended school at McKinley Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High, Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College.
He served in the Army in Korea.
Walter worked for Muller Construction until he had to quit in December 2005 because of illness.
Survivors include a daughter, Taun Aliss; four sons, Walt Jr., Lamar, Joshua and Shonterric Jabri.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Delaware St., Coffeyville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Mission Funeral Services, 502 Union St., Coffeyville.
