COLUMBUS — Helene B. White, 90, of Columbus, formerly of Parsons, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at Mercy Health in Columbus.

She was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Isabella, Okla., to Herbert and Anna Bowmaker. She grew up and attended schools in Isabella and later moved to Wichita, where she worked at Boeing Aircraft during World War II.

On April 22, 1946, she married Ralph P. White in Arma, where they lived until moving to Parsons in 1953. During the mid 1960s, she worked at Fred Ronald Manufacturing until retirement in the early 1980s.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. Helene was an outstanding cook and enjoyed needlework and quilting. She especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Ralph G. White and his wife, Clara, of Columbus; two grandsons, Daniel Joseph White and his wife, Monica, of Carrollton, Texas, and Thomas Paul White and his wife, Heather, of Duncan, Okla.; three great-grandchildren, Reagan Nicole White and Dylan Joseph White, both of Carrollton, Texas, and Anna Marie White of Duncan, Okla.; three brothers, Donald Dean Bowmaker and Michael Bowmaker, both of Haysville, and Marion Bowmaker of Fairview, Okla.; and a sister, Tina Cogar of Isabella, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph P. White, on Oct. 26, 1990; three brothers, Melvin Bowmaker, Clarence Bowmaker and Herbert Bowmaker Jr.; and three sisters, Alice Patterson, Rosella Ricke and Mary Frances Werth.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, where the family will receive friends immediately following.
