COFFEYVILLE — Ellen “Louise” Brown, 58, of Coffeyville died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at her home.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1951, to Howard and Lucy (Wege) Gifford in Cherryvale. She graduated from the Altamont school system.

She married Harold Brown on July 11, 1970, in Cherryvale. He survives of the home.

Mrs. Brown worked for Southeast Kansas Independent Living in Coffeyville.

Other survivors include her mother, Lucy Gifford of Manhattan; two sons, David Brown of Bartlett and Danny Brown of Wichita; a brother, Don Gifford of Richmond, Mo.; two sisters, Ann Shipwash of Winston Salem, N.C., and Carol Anderson of Bloomfield, Ind.; and a grandchild.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cherryvale Christian Church. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Potts Chapel of Independence.
