He was born on Jan. 21, 1934, in Parsons to Sherman G. and Blanche E. (Ellis) Milks. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and then earned his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University.
Mr. Milks’ career in electrical engineering included work in the outdoor recreational, automotive, aerospace and avionics industries.
On Aug. 11, 1962, he married Mary Louise Hogan at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She survives.
Other survivors include his daughter, Debbie le Roux and her husband, Marinus, and their children, Becky Tincher and Martin le Roux of Washington; his son, Dennis Milks and his wife, Becky, and their children, Ben and Hannah of Liberty, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Maxine Dobyns, Lois Diediker and Nola Carter.
The service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenleaf. A Celebration of Life at the Greenleaf American Legion will follow mass. A private burial was at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Kimeo.
A memorial fund has been established to Meadowlark Hospice and contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home of Washington.
