STARK — Vacil Floyd Poulson, 65, of Stark died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at his home. His death was unexpected.

He was born on July 23, 1944, at Carthage, Mo., to Chester Vacil and Maggie Rosalee (Mathis) Poulson. He grew up at Carthage, Mo., Kansas City, Kan., and Modesto, Calif.

He married Linda Walker on Nov. 5, 1964, at Keyes, Calif. She survives of the home. He lived at Modesto and Kansas City, Kan., before moving to Stark in 1992. He worked as a gas station mechanic, farmer, truck driver and mechanic and sanitation engineer over the years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, dirt track races and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Cheryl Aiello of Lawrence, Sandra Linney and her husband, Brian, of Orrick, Mo., Tracy Poulson and James Jones of Stark and Melissa Culp of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his stepmother, Inez Walker of Windsor, Mo.; five brothers, Lee Howell of Kansas City, Kan., Wayne Poulson of Carson, Calif., Mike Poulson of VanCoover, Wash., Ace Redden of Pittsburg and Larry Dale Byler of Missouri; three sisters, Vicky Andersen of Tuscumbia, Mo., Marilyn Ratliff of Tonganoxie and Theda White of Galesburg, Ill.; and other family members, Rickie Aiello of LaHarpe, Billie Culp of Parsons and Jim Beth of Kansas City, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Murle Redden; and a brother, Chester Dale Poulson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 today at Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. today. Cremation will follow the visitation. No services are scheduled.
