MOLINE, Ill. — Margaret C. Depee, 92, formerly of Parsons, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Rosewood Care Center in Moline, Ill.

She was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Tulsa to William and Sarah (Hester) Haggerty. She lived at Newkirk, Okla., and on a farm near Owasso, Okla., and attended Owasso schools, graduating from high school there.

She married Albert Scott Depee on Aug. 1, 1933, in Claremore, Okla. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1963. She lived at Erie until 1962, when she moved to Parsons.

She worked as a beautician, in a meat market and at Kansas Army Ammunition Plant. She was a housewife and mother. In 1962, she was hired as a seamstress at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center. She retired from there in 1979. Shortly thereafter, she opened her home to those who could benefit from water therapy. She gave lessons to hundreds of folks over a 25-year span until the age of 85.

Survivors include her children, a daughter, Catherine Attebery and her husband, Tag, of Andalusia, Ill.; two sons, Al Depee and his wife, Judy, of Blanchard, Okla., and Don Depee and his wife, Betty, of Port Orchard, Wash.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Betty Ann Depee; two brothers; and two sisters.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Parsons. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery near Erie. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church.
