Lynwood A. “Lynn” Manues, 76, of Parsons died at his home at 10:41 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010. His death was on his 76th birthday.
He was born at Dewitt, Ark., to John F. and Pearl A. (Owens) Manues. He grew up and attended school there. In 1980, he started employment at Parsons Motors, where he worked for several years as a mechanic. After the April 2000 tornado, he worked for Breedlove Automotive until retiring.
He was married to Junella F. Mitchell on Dec. 31, 1953, at Avondale, Ariz. She survives of the home. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a devoted family man and had a great passion and love for mechanics.
Other survivors include two sons, Rickey Manues and Barton Manues, both of Parsons; a daughter: Judy Manues of Parsons; a daughter-in-law, Karen Manues of Parsons; eight grandchildren, Michell Carson, Shawna Manues, Tina Halliburton, Kerrie Manues, Brandy Manues, Meagan Larson, Kayla Manues and Kalen McRay; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Owen Manues of Dewitt, Ark.; and a sister, Barbara Cooksey of Stillwater, Okla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Arvon Phillips Community Center’s Community Room.
