ST. PAUL -- Lewis Bradshaw, 73, of St. Paul died at 8:36 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. His death was unexpected.

He was born April 2, 1935, at Walnut to Leland and Regina (Westhoff) Bradshaw. He grew up in Walnut and graduated from Walnut High School. He served six years as a reservist in the Army National Guard.

On Nov. 17, 1956, he married Mary Jo Fager at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul, and they had lived in St. Paul since. She survives of the home.

He was employed for many years as a heavy equipment operator, working for Hy-Grade Construction and Harry Byers Co. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus.

Other survivors include three sons, Steve Bradshaw and his wife, Kaye, Michael Bradshaw and his wife, Cindy, all of Girard, Doug Bradshaw and his wife, Teresa, of Kingman; two daughters, Brenda Thompson and her husband, Charles, of Pittsburg and Carla O'Brien and her husband, Joey, of St. Paul; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Bradshaw of St. Paul and Donald Bradshaw of Walnut; five sisters, Helen George, Rose Mary Church, both of Walnut, Betty O'Toole of Texas, Clara Miller of Alabama and Alice Stratton of Radley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Randy Bradshaw, who died in 1997.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul with burial in St. Francis Cemetery.

The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and the parish will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday, both at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Catholic Church.

Carson-Wall Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
