SAN JOSE, Calif. — Wanda (Heady) King, 85, of San Jose, Calif., died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at her daughter’s home in Los Gatos, Calif.

She was born April 11, 1924, at Erie to Carl D. and Laura (Foster) Heady. She attended Parsons schools, including Parsons Junior College.

She married Jack King on June 6, 1942. They moved to Illinois and 20 years later moved to California.

She will be remembered most for her compassion, faith, humor and joyful outlook, even in difficult times. No one was a stranger, only a new friend. She loved making her weekly calls back to her cousins in the Heady clan while she was able. She passed away peacefully in her home.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Tidd and her husband, Philip, of Pleasanton, Calif., and Victoria Bell and her husband, Alan, of Los Gatos, Calif.; five grandchildren, Ryan and Justin Tidd and Caitriana, Niall and Brenna Bell; and a sister, Dorothy of Arroyo Grande, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Deborah King; and four siblings, Margie Band, Charles Heady, Bill Heady and Sam Heady.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 925 Cera Dr., San Jose, Calif.
