She was born and raised in Parsons.
She was the dear wife of Kenneth Winn; beloved daughter of the late Edmond R. Powers and the late Maude G. Griggs; loving mother of Carole (Stacy) Garrett, Jeffrey J. Winn, Craig (Katy) Winn; dear mother-in-law to Kim C. Winn; cherished grandmother to Ian, Colin and Amanda Garrett, Austin, Madyson, Henry and Emma Winn.
She was a retired reading teacher with the Mehlville School District. She was a member of Open Hearts United Methodist Church, St. Charles Choral Arts Society and the International Reading Association. She was also Alumni Teacher of the Year at the University of Missouri in St. Louis. Nancy enjoyed reading, music and fishing.
The family is being served by The Baue Funeral and Memorial Center, 3950 West Clay Street, St. Charles, Mo., where visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Chapel, 3950 West Clay Street, St. Charles, Mo. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
