SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Fred Joel Stigall, 74, of Springfield, Ore., died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, in Springfield.

He was born Feb. 25, 1935, in Hartville, Mo., to Russell and Mable (Blanchard) Stigall. He worked for the federal forest service for more than 37 years. He was master sergeant with the Army Reserves.

He married Carolyn Sue Norman on Dec. 28, 1959, in Parsons. She survives of the home in Springfield, Ore.

Other survivors include three daughters, Deborah L. Scott, Newberg, Ore., Shelia A. Stigall of Eugene, Ore., and Brenda S. Simonson of Beaverton, Ore.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Jacky J. Carpenter of Netarts, Ore.; and two brothers, Jerry D. Stigall of Independence and James R. Stigall of Ottawa.

A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Andreason’s Cremation and Burial Service/Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield, Ore.
