Lori A. Rice, 42, of Columbus died at 12:42 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
She was born Jan. 4, 1967, in Columbus to Norman and Linda (Newberry) George. As a child, she moved with her family to Porum, Okla., and later to Columbus. She also lived in Vinita, Okla., five years, before returning to the Columbus area, where she had lived the past two years.
She was a Mormon. She enjoyed crocheting and collecting dolls.
She married Robert Pease. They later divorced. On Feb. 8, 2003, she married Mickey Rice in Rocky Comfort, Mo. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her mother and stepfather, Linda and Marion J. Holt of Porum, Okla.; four sons, Jason Pease, Mason Pease, Allen Rice, all of Columbus, and Preston Rice of Quapaw, Okla.; three daughters, Cassandra Copher, Rebecca Marks, both of Joplin, and April Hilton of Riverton; 14 grandchildren; and two sisters, LaDonna Clark and Norma Shelton, both of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her father, Norman George, on May 21, 2006.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Burial will be in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
