Charles Edward Gibson, 24, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
He was born Dec. 14, 1984, in Pawhuska, Okla., the son of Stephen Joe and Dawn (Tyng) Gibson. He graduated in 2004 from Wynona High School.
He was a member of the Wynona Round-Up Club. In his spare time, Mr. Gibson enjoyed roping and hunting, playing basketball and bowling. He loved spending time with his son.
Survivors include his mother, Dawn Miller and her husband, Clint; his father, Stephen Gibson and his wife, Maggie; his stepfather, Willie Whittley; a son, William Blaine Gibson and his mother, LaDawn Gilbert; brothers and sisters, Wynonna Whittley, Cody Miller, Cassandra “Pete” Whittley, Fredricka Ann Miller, Phillip A. Miller and Franchesca “Piddy” Gibson; his grandparents, JoAnn Gibson, Bobbie Tyng, Glen Miller and Clotis Miller; his godfather, Shawn McCosar; a niece and two nephews, Madysen Whittley, Tanner Wells and Stephen Divine Bailey; numerous aunts and uncles, and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles Ray Gibson, Kenneth Infield, Edward Willliam Tyng; and a child.
The service will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Barnsdall, Okla., with Mike Harmon officiating. Burial will be in the Ethel Reese Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Blaine Gibson Memorial Fund, Osage Federal Bank, 400 W. Main St., Barnsdall, Okla., 74002.
McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home in Pawhuska is in charge of arrangements.
