Charles R. “John” Johnson, 80, of Parsons died at 6:10 p.m. Monday at his home.

He was born Sept. 5, 1929, at Amber, Okla., to Thomas R. and Dovie (Boan) Johnson. The family moved to Parsons. and he graduated from Parsons High School.

He had lived in several places including Kincaid, McAlester, Okla., and Cushing, Okla. His employment had included the Interstate Music Co. and M-K-T Railroad, the Cushing Supply Co., Kerr-McGee Co., Ruskin Manufacturing Co., Power Flame and Parsons State Hospital and Training Center, from where he retired.

On Aug. 31, 1952, he married Donna Lee Johnston. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Kathy Pullen and her husband, Jimmy, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Laura Lee Johnson of San Carlos, Calif.; three sons, Tom Johnson and his wife, Kim, of Pittsburg, Dennis Johnson and his wife, Sue, of Burleson, Texas, and Todd Johnson and his wife, Tracy, of Petit Jean Mountain, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery at St. Paul. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
