Audine Alvord, 80, formerly of Winfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Parsons Presbyterian Manor.
She was born Feb. 26, 1929, in rural Burden to Clarence and Cecil (Underwood) Courtney. She was raised and educated in the Winfield area, graduating from Winfield High School in 1948.
She had worked at William Newton Hospital until she retired.
She married Donald D. Alvord on Aug. 2, 1948, in Winfield. He survives at Presbyterian Manor.
Other survivors include two sons, Donald L. Alvord of Sterling and Robert Alvord of Parsons; four grandchildren; and a sister, Sarah Lyon of Fresno, Calif.
The service will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Winfield. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery at Winfield. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to service time at the church.
The family suggests memorials to Foster Grandparents, Winfield American Legion Auxiliary or Hospice Care of Kansas.
Swisher-Taylor and Morris Funeral Home of Winfield is in charge of arrangements.
