David Leroy Kuffler, 62, of Parsons died unexpectedly at 11:41 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, in the emergency room of Labette Health.
He was born May 9, 1947, at Erie to Kenneth and Mildred (Holding) Kuffler. The family moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, when he was a small child and he grew up and and attended schools there. He returned to Parsons in October 2007.
Through much of his adult life he worked as a truck driver for DPC Industries of Bellevue, Neb.
He was a Methodist.
His first marriage was to Judy Edie and they later divorced. On Sept. 1, 2001, he married LaDonna Young at the Big Hill Lake near Parsons. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Mildred Kuffler of Parsons; two sons, Jeffrey Kuffler and Mark Kuffler and his wife, Melissa, all of Parsons; three daughters, Jeanne Oehlert and her husband, Conrad, of Miami, Okla., Brandi Yonkie and her husband, Jesse, and Amanda Young, all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Marcia Dyer of Parsons and Dora Edie and her husband, Terry, of Oswego.
A son, Michael Stephen Kuffler, preceded him in death.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
