WICHITA -- Jimmye Mae Jones, 80, of Wichita died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at Manor Care in Wichita.
He was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Clay, La., the daughter of Bennie and Amy (Wiley) Drayton. She attended Ruston High School in Louisiana. Following her graduation, she received two years of education at Grambling State University.
On Sept. 17, 1954, she married Little Frank Jones Jr. They celebrated 36 years of marriage. He died May 28, 1990. The couple had two children, Frenchetta and Antria.
Survivors include two daughters, Frenchetta M. Jones and her husband, Charles Coleman, of Wichita, Antria L. Jones of Parsons; a son, Michael S. Williams of Parsons; a stepson, Frank Taylor of Gary, Ind.; five grandchildren, Jayme D. Jones and husband, Eric Wright, of Wichita, Brandon L. Williams of Chicago, Velvet C. Jones and husband, Ryan Freeman, of Wichita, Zhanae R. Jones of Parsons and Syanna J. Jones of Parsons; 11 great-grandchildren, Keyera M. Jones, Naquan M. Jones, Abel M. Jones, Dontevious M. Carradine-Wright, Jhenna M. Wright, Ravyn O. Williams, Shaina A. Jones, Alijah J. Jones, Rhiyanna K. Freeman, Rakiyah A. Freeman, Tinley F. Freeman; a brother, Bennie Drayton and his wife, Katie, of Parsons; a sister, Kathleen Drayton of Chicago; and a sister-in-law, Roberta Drayton of Rockford, Ill.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Henry P. Drayton, Mildred Lee Drayton-Osborne, Raymond Drayton, Lonnie Drayton, Elsie Drayton, Johnnye M. Grant, Georgia Lee Hicks; and a granddaughter, Cashmere Alexi Jones.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Mortuary, 5318 E. 37th St. North, Wichita.
